Tacx ivortex ipad USB

Hi folks,
I'm thinking about getting a turbo for the winter and was quite taken by the Tacx I-vortex turbos. I'm looking at the I-vortex with Ant+ stick to use with my ipad as I dont want to shell out on upgrading my PC/laptop too.
So the question is, does anyone know if you can use an ipad USB adapter to run the standard Ant stick that comes with the vortex? Just the ipad specific Ant stick is another £80+ again.
