Why do you want full suss for your first bike?
The Boardman is probably about the best FS you will get for a grand. But, you will be able to get a better specced hardtail for the same money.0 -
Paul's cycles do some cracking offers such as these;
http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m1b0s1p443 ... M-X-4-2012
http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m1b0s1p494 ... CE-X3-2013
Depends what type of full suspension bike you want and what type of riding you intend doing.0 -
I don't know why full sus really. Used to road bikes and figured I'd like something softer for the off road stuff.
Bodys getting old and thought some suspension would be the way ahead. Not going to be doing anything crazy.
Not looking for four foot jumps etc .Boardman AiRPro C

Forget the naysayers, nothing wrong with a full sus as a first or hundredth bike.
And you can get a decent one at that budget.
I am old and find my FS far more forgiving than one of my hardtails. So much so it's all I ride these days.I don't do smileys.

Can't argue with any of that. When I bought my full suss I thought I'd still use the hardtail for local gnar-free rides, but found myself taking the full susser every time, 'cos it's just more comfortable. The old "learn to ride in a hardtail 'cos full sussers are just skills compensators" myth is just a load of old bollox.
If I was buying on a budget of a grand now then I'd have the Trance X3 for £899 from Pauls and put the remaining £100 towards a fork upgrade.0 -
If you're a medium then I'd snap this up. As it's ex-demo there will only be one so don't hang around if you're interested........

This has been somewhat of battle cry for me lately, but a grand will buy you a lot more bike if you consider buying used.Current:
