Front/left gear indicator stuck halfway.

I've had my Whyte Stirling for four months now & apart from a few creaks the bike has run smoothly, but now I've started to have an issue with the front gear indicator. For some strange reason the gear indicator is now stuck between the numbers 1 & 2, when it's in gear 1 & then goes to the far right when in gear 2. I can't think of anything that I've done for this happen, so does anyone have any experience of this?

    4 months is too soon for anything to go wrong. Take it back to the bike shop and have them put it right.
    To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.
