Can anyone recommend a good breathable waterproof top for around £100 please?

Im looking at either the Altura Mayhem or Endura Flyte.

Has anyone got any experience of wearing these jackets, or can you recommend something else?

Thanks

I've got a Mayhem, it still gets a bit sweaty inside (as all "breathable" stuff does) but it's a great jacket.

There's a waterproof jackets test in MBR or MBUK this month. Can't remember which, I flicked through both in Tesco last week.

I found my last royal jacket was really poorly made and the Velcro cuffs came off after a few washes.

Should have complained under SOGA for it being not fit for purpose and not lasting the reasonable expected amount of time.

I've been using my Matrix pretty much daily since I got and it doesn't even have so much as loose thread.

  • Yeah mine was the cheaper version one, still got it but it just isn't waterproof at all.

Ive just bought an altura mayhem along with a nice merino top to wear underneath. Hopefully it wont be too sweaty.

Shame about the Royal, but a good choice with the Mayhem. I'd actually quite like the green one if I was in the market for another jacket. Need to get in on this merino action too as a good base layer is something I lack.

May warm winter riding ensue ;)

Only selling due to weight loss, now too big. Wouldn`t sell a jacket of this quality otherwise. You would struggle to find something as well specc`d as one of these tbh.

Check out the reviews for confirmation :D

I got a waterproof from Decathlon - cant remember its name but it seems to be holding up well and not too sweaty - under 60 notes. *its a BTwin charcoal grey and blue one.

I picked up a purple MT500 jacket from Biketart near Canterbury last week.
Christmas present for me, £159.99 reduced to £95, at that price too good to walk away from.
wasn't sure about the hood though, does it get in the way.
Jacket stowed away until Xmas but could really do with it now in this pants weather.
Currently wear an Altura Nevis which is ok but hoping that the MT500 will reign superior.
