9 speed sora 3400 shifters with thumb lever

i have been using 9 speed sora 3400 shifters with the thumb lever on the hoods is it better upgrading to 10speed shifters without the thumb levers can i still change gear from the top of the hoods

Are you sure you don't mean 8 speed? I thought the 3500 was 9 speed.

And yes - with the 10 speed shifters it's just as easy to downshift as it is to upshift on your Sora.

Yes, and more importantly, you can change gear both ways when in the drops.
