mmm, think I wrecked my FSA exo bb7000 BB. Really bad grinding from the drive side, so popped the seals off, but I also look out a plastic piece that seems to section off the ball bearings. Problem is after I greased I can't get the plastic thing back in... Is it absolutely necessary? I guess without it the ball bearings just collect together...
Probably needed a new BB anyway but was hoping to get a few more miles out of it....
seem to be 40 quid:

do I have to use this one or are there cheaper alternatives that are as good?

mmmm, found out that it's a sealed BB which means that I have to just replace it - can't be serviced. DOH. Prob could have got a few more miles out of it. That was my dry bike so it would have been exposed to very little mud/water. Fair few miles though.0
