Front derailleur shims

I'm building a charge duster hard tail and the front derailleur I've bought as part of a groupset is 34.9mm diameter band and it turns out my frame is 28.6 mm. Is this too big a gap to Shim?

    No, but you need two sets of shims

    Thanks for the reply. Surely having two sets of shims leaves it open to movement. Maybe a new derailleur is the answer. Do they do a slx 2x10 derailleur in 28.6 though?

    They normally come as 31. something with a shim to 28.6
