Problem is a Stumpjumper '10 with an SLX front mech. Should the outer housing be routed down the down tube , under the BB and then all the way up into the mech? Or should the outer stop at the BB and then have the inner bare up to the mech?
WOW really? Carbon Fibre Hubs?? Well how about chucking that kebab in the bin?

I've no idea, but you should be able to tell depending on where the "stop" for the outer is located.

As per the terminology used by the OP, there'll be a evident boss that the outer cable locates into, which is dimensioned so that only the inner cable can continue to the mech.

Usually with a BB routed cable the stop is at the TOP of the downtube and the bare inner runs from there via the BB cable guide to the mech.

I did find one Sachs front mech with an integral cable stop, but it was from the 1970's........
