Hi guys. Just acquired an hd sky box to replace my old sky + box. If I do a self set up, will they automatically start charging me for hd? I don't want to pay for the hd channels at the moment, just want a newer box with more storage space. Anyone done this? Cheers

Your card is pair to the box nowadays isn't it so if you just switch the box over I don't think it will work.Bianchi Infinito CV

Your account is with Sky not with the box, so you'll pay for whatever package you've signed up to regardless of whether you actually watch them. Free HD channels are limited to BBC & I think ITV & C4 (prob); note that BBC3 & 4 and News24 start up in HD over the next few weeks / New Year, although BBC4 / CBeebies is now testing in HD on Freesat 11024H for those who care / can / want to.0
