Stumpjumper '10 Cable Routing

Morning all. Building up a Stumpjumper '10 and have just started the cable routing. From other forums I have gathered that front and rear mech cables route down the down tube alongside the rear brake. Is this 'compulsory' ? I've opted to run the rear mech cable down the top tube and along the top of the rear triangle (allowing for rear travel). Can anyone see a problem with this?
WOW really? Carbon Fibre Hubs?? Well how about chucking that kebab in the bin?

    Only problems would be extra cable rub and it not looking as tidy as if they were all underneath. You don't need a lot of slack under the BB if you route it that way. The brake hose has a specific place in the cable guide as it's chunkier than the gear cables. I believe it's the middle one but I cba to go and have a look. You can tell by looking at the cable guide.
