Morning all. Building up a Stumpjumper '10 and have just started the cable routing. From other forums I have gathered that front and rear mech cables route down the down tube alongside the rear brake. Is this 'compulsory' ? I've opted to run the rear mech cable down the top tube and along the top of the rear triangle (allowing for rear travel). Can anyone see a problem with this?
WOW really? Carbon Fibre Hubs?? Well how about chucking that kebab in the bin?

  • Only problems would be extra cable rub and it not looking as tidy as if they were all underneath. You don't need a lot of slack under the BB if you route it that way. The brake hose has a specific place in the cable guide as it's chunkier than the gear cables. I believe it's the middle one but I cba to go and have a look. You can tell by looking at the cable guide.
