A question i haven't researched yet but i'm hoping for some ideas.

So my 705 is getting on and the original HRM seemed caput, tried the waiting while replacing battery routine.

Hence bought what seems like a replacement HRM (HRM1G-Heath Rate Monitor). It has the same style and a battery. Checked the Garmin settings to scan for a HRM. Then no HR displaying on the garmin :?

Could the battery be poor having been in storage, has anyone had such an experience with a replacement HRM?

Any advice appreciated.

have you tried putting a few drops of water on the hrm sensor pads, then fitting the belt on you, then trying pairing?

  • very speedy...thanks.

Yes i did try the HRM in the usual way for a 30 minute ride. I also turned the Garmin 705 off/on to give another chance to pick it up.

Let's see, I'll try to check the battery.

fwiw the older hrm1b straps seem to be more reliable than the hrm1g, if you do need to return it i'd consider getting one of the older ones, they're still available - mine is in it's 5th year
