I just got a set of these. I was going to break them in this weekend as the forecast is to turn cold next week apparently. I know I'm supposed to break in gently over 25 miles or so, does anyone know if the breaking in is at full pressure or pressure you would use if it was icy?

  • Break it in at the pressure you would use if it was icy. You are trying to make sure that all of the spikes are seated fully in doing this so you want them to contact the ground.

I did my 700c ones at 'full' pressure. No lost pins, and they all touch the ground, but I'm 90kg.
I can't imagine riding them soft for any distance.
Be careful of kerbs at an angle and potholes. Lost a few pins on my 26" set on uneven surfaces.

I ran mine at around 80psi for the 700c, just very long laps of the park, lost a couple of studs the first few times out, but none since, although I caught a couple working their way out and pushed them back in.
