Have we had a thread on spoke interlacing recently?

I'm pretty new to wheel building, I'm replacing the rim on a stans / hope pro 2 back wheel. I've got new spokes, some light oil and I've laced it up. Comparing it to the front wheel I've just realised the spokes don't interlace, as in the spoke coming from outside of the flange should go underneath one from inside the flange and both will bend slightly at that crossing point.
I did some googling, seems like there are some good reasons for interlacing (lateral stiffness, load spreading for example) and for my first proper build I want to do it well so I'll relace it with the interlacing. Just interested to see if anyone has another opinion or rides non interlaced wheels.
