Plant X Carbon Wheelset - Any good?

Been looking at cheap wheel upgrades and notice Planet X doing what appears to be an insanely cheap carbon wheelset.
Has anyone got any experience of these or are they this cheap for a reason?

They're good value if you want tubs. Personally I prefer tyres.0

I've been using them (the 82/50 version) on both TT and road bikes for the last 18 months or so. Not the lightest, probably not the most aero, but for the money if you're after deep carbon tubs, very hard to beat.0

Unless you buy direct from China, but then you don't get the warranty.0

these retailed on PX for £1,499, reduced to £499. http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/WPS ... r_wheelset Were they overpriced to begin with??Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/

That is some saving, I guess they had an inflated initial price but still reckon that is a pretty good deal. Unless someone comes along who has some and thinks they are rubbish... anyone?0 -
i guess its the old tubs over clinchers debate, have you used tubs in the past or will this be your first time?0

Different wheels though - an Al/carbon rim rather than an all carbon rim. Not saying that this makes them better/worse, just different.
Also heavier. Which I will stick my neck out and say is worse....http://www.georgesfoundation.org

Got the 50mm versions earlier this year think they were £379.
They are fast when you get them spinning. Only problem is the rear hub feels a bit cheap. Definitely a racing wheel and not a training wheel. I use them for TT.
If you are not in a rush to buy I'd wait until the New Year I reckon they might come down to £350.0 -
Cheers for the replies chaps.
Thinking tubs may be too much bother than they are worth so might try and pick up a decent 2nd hand pair for similar money.0
