I fell off my bike on Sunday :( No idea how, was making my way along the canal path and then I was picking myself up off the floor.

Now i have a lovely bit of road rash and a chunk missing from my knee!

What have you lot done recently?

  • Nothing compared to your injury thank God....

    Just the odd 'emergency-stop-then-falling-to-the-side-because-i-am-still-being-clipped-in' business.....
I ride with God on my mind and power in my thighs....WOE betide you!
I know I'm not the fastest rider on earth BUT I KNOW I AM NOT the slowest!!!
If you Jump Red Lights in order to stay ahead you are a DISGRACE!!

Ouch! Heal up fast. Looks like you've been on set for a horror film.
  • I also hope you heal up fast!

Could be worth money as modern art... Better than that Frances bacon that fetched £89 million yesterday...
  • And you need a new razor, your current one must be blunt.

Hydrocolloid dressings are your friend. You're going to have to replace them fairly frequently to begin with, so try to shave as much of the injured area as you can now. You're going to end up doing it after a couple of days anyway, so might aswell do it straight away...

Mr_Ribble, What were you expecting? Kittens?

Colinthecop, How would I keep my legs warm if I shaved them?

TGOTB, Shave?! And ride a MTB? I'd never live it down.
  • I departed my MTB in a display of inept riding. Corner -> target fixation too close to a tree -> grab a handful of front brake. Slow motion style, knowing my knees were still sporting new skin from the last epic. Right hand down.. ok, left .. ok.. right knee.. ok.. left knee.. ahhybfsgfsfd as it hit the only rock around. Less blood than the OP but still enough to reach the sock so it counts.

Nice one reformedfatty. I find 9/10 times you will land on a relatively fresh injury/new skin if you do come off
