Does your bike have any marks or other unique way of identifying it if it was stolen something you could tell the police that proves it's your bike i have a bantu and it's basically bog standard. Was wondering if there's a discreet way of marking it without having to stamp my postcode or something onto the frame.

I picked up a microdot kit via Halfords , invisible except under uv light and carries a unique code.0

Thought I might mark mine with some microdots left over from my motorcycle Datatag kit, but wasn't sure whether police would check a recovered pushbike for them. (Plus if I sell my motorbike they'd contact the wrong person, lol).0 -
Have you looked for a serial number underneath the bottom bracket?0

Bit of a hassle with Spybike here

ImmobiTag Electronic Bike Tagging - what on earth is a Solid Frame?
And the other one is raising funds, so...
Either don't get it pinched or insure it.
I don't bother, just keep the decent bikes safe, and have cheap hacks if they're going to get left anywhere.I don't do smileys.

My bike has scratches and chips in places that I could reel off to the police in order to prove ownership.
And a frame number, if that hasn't been removed. :shock:0 -

Interesting on the Spybike, sounds like a good idea by a dodgy company!
As for solid frame, it's just a bad way of saying uninterrupted seat tube, as I presume that's where it's hidden.
I just have a lock, a note of serial numbers and plenty of photos to show the bizziesCurrent:

Something and nothing I know, registered with this site: http://www.bikeshepherd.org/pulseid.html
If your going to use the bike to nip in to town and chain up outside tescos probably worth buying a £100 shitter off fleabay, of course lock it up but less likely to get lifted than your shiney Bantu.0 -
My security is a copper with a big noisy dog for a neighbour. In the 8 years he has lived there our street has been 100% crime free.
I also transport my bikes in the car boot so no one will see them and follow me home.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
That's how I transport my dates.I don't do smileys.

immobilise is a free registration site. you need the immobitag to 'mark' your cycle. its like microchipping your dog/goldfish/bonsai tree etc.... it is effective and all uk police forces are using the database now., pm me and ill give you some tips on how to mark your cycle discreetly.0
