Howdy folks, first post on this forum. im just debating whether i should upgrade my current road bike (Trek 1.5) to a new carbon bike (dolan ares sl) as i plan to take part in some races next year at club league level.
Ive been cycling for about a year and a half now, and have been a member of a cycling club for a year. in that time ive taken part in quite a few sportives, and i find that my current bike "ticks all the boxes" in terms of what im currently looking for in a bike. ive changed the stock tiagra gear shifters to 105 and have also upgraded the stock wheels to mavic aksiums.
ive spoted a dolan ares sl carbon bike online with full ultegra groupo, albe it with a 53-39 chainset, which seems like a good deal, although I dont think id be able to climb sufficiently on. if i were to buy said bike id cahnge it to a compact crank if needs be.
just looking for advice from other people that may have upgraded in a similar situation.
cheers
peter

Nah, keep the trek. All you need for amateur racing. If the Trek gets trashed then think about the Dolan...Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching
