Deep winter commute jacket that looks good off the bike?

Hey folks,
Looking for something that will keep me toasty down around the 0 deg mark on the bike, but to save bringing a civilian jacket to work, I'd like it to look not too bikey when walking around town during the day.
Any pointers appreciated.
Cheers.

Provided you layer up properly I reckon the Rapha Softshell is the neatest looking bike jacket off the bike. Pricey but great looking and not quite so hardcore bike jacket as the Hardshell IMO.

Vulpine CC are worth a look, a nice alternative to Rapha. I have one of their rain jackets and think its ace. I've never worn it on the bike but have no doubts it's up for the job.“Training is like fighting with a gorilla. You don’t stop when you’re tired. You stop when the gorilla is tired.”0

If you want something a little cheaper, SWRVE do a decent jacket/hoody called the Milwaukee ES. It's £115 from alwaysriding.co.uk, mine has kept me dry and warm in pissing rain throughout the winter, just layer up a bit if it's extra cold.0

Vulpine is nice looking kit and doesn't look too bikey. I nearly bought one, but as I already have about 6 winter bike jackets, couldn't really justify another.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Shutt have a couple of nice looking jackets. I don't own either, so can't vouch for their winter credentials personally, but I'm tempted by the Active Softshell as I can't really justify the Performance Jacket.
Yes, they are black (albeit with some reflective piping) but I suppose that's what gives them the apres-ride appeal. If they even did one in a strong red colour, I would be even more keen on it.

I have some union 34 stuff that I am pretty impressed with, not got any of these jackets myself but might be worth a look?

Shutt VR have their own ebay page and are currently selling the softshell on there for £49.00 (new, undamaged, all sizes)

rather than the £99.00 on their website.
I love Shutt's clothing. Absolute quality and looks really nice.Trying Is The First Step Towards Failure

I'd been keeping an eye on that as it happens. Finally pulled the trigger last night. Really, the only thing holding me back was it being black, but I bought a very cheap running vest in Aldi today which will go over the top when a reflective jacket would be a layer too far.
The only other Shutt item I own is the Pro short. Lovely pad (same as a certain Swiss company uses). Only complaint I have with that is the leg length is on the short side (excuse the pun) and rides up a bit. I don't really like the Sean Yates look!
Okay, it's not quite as bad as that.
Shutt were great with my order though. They were awaiting stock but put one pair onto the website so I could place an advance order. Great service. 8)

I have just taken delivery of the Shutt VR Performance jacket and can confirm that it looks the mutts nuts both on and off the bike.
I used it at 1 deg with a merino base layer on underneath and was quite toasty. At lower temps I will use a long sleeve jersey aswell. I also had it on during a 30 minute heavy rain fall and it performed admirably. It is only listed as water resistant but I didn't see any ingress.
It's worth every penny of it's price, and they have it bundled with some Roubaix bib shorts at the moment too to make it even better value.0 -
Good to hear. Maybe I'll get one if that ever ends up as a clearance item!
With women, their weakness tends to be for shoes or handbags (or both!). With me, it tends to be jackets for some reason, whether cycling or general use.
