Do I need to replace chain AND cassette?

Bought a Park chain measuring tool and it would seem the chains on my bikes all need replacing (over 0.75% stretched). Should I replace the cassette at the same time as replacing the chain? I'm not getting any slipping or poor gear changing.

if it is badly worn then yes.

if you change one and get slippage then it was too badly worn.

I'd say replace the chain and see where that gets you (if you must, you say it is running fine).

I suspect that the idea of replacing both is because of the economics of bike shops (the labour rate) means that it's not worth spending time on troubleshooting, so they just replace parts. If you are doing it yourself then you can do the job it two parts if required.
