Stripped pedal threads?

Hi there got some truvativ cranks which have stripped threads where the pedals screw into any suggestions on how to repair treads or is it no worth it?

You can try a thread tap, but rarely works - next best bet is to fit a helicoil.0

Helicoils are excellent. For example, saved a cylinder head that would've otherwise been scrap due to a snapped exhaust stud when building a bike for my b*tch ex. £10 fix, compared to a new cylinder head.0

Depends which Truvativ cranks you're trying to save.
Maybe cheaper to get a new crankset?0 -
I doubt you'll find many for less than the ten quid getting them helicoiled would cost.0

I had a 'mirage' crank repaired in a local bike, some years ago, and they fitted an insert for the pedal. Was bigger than a heliciol and made specifically for repairing the damaged threads.0

Correct, helicoil repair is cheap.
But if it's a cheap crankset, there are some very cheap replacements available
CRC has a Shimano square taper Deore for £15 which is astonishing0 -
Or check out eBay.......Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
