Butt cleats for driving

The seatbelt is to drivers what clips & straps are to feet. Why have car manufacturers not cottoned on to this and come up with clip-in car seats that you can firmly attach your butt and your back to via cleats?

    Probably because they would make it so you could not move around much while driving, and would not be practical compared to standard seat belts.

    No, clips/straps/cleats etc. are designed to improve efficiency. Seatbelts are a safety feature.

    Perhaps in-car butt plugs would catch on, but for entirely different reasons...

    It can be a distraction but it's ever so pleasant.
