Pretty shrewd really.
Saw that for the first time last night. Me, the wife and daughter sat there for what felt like 10 minutes saying 'what are they advertising?'
They paid £7m for that!! It was pointless (all it told me was that they sell alarm clocks), daft (a brown bear would be looking to gobble up a rabbit that size after hibernating) and utterly boring.
Can we start coming up with ideas for John Lewis' 2014 Xmas advert? Even if we undercut them at £6m, with a bit of creative thinking, I think we'd all get a brand new bike for Xmas FOC.
Yeah, but it's got you all talking about them which is kind of the point of advertising
There's me thinking it was all about trying to entice me to buy their products! Annoying adverts just make me dig my heels in and refuse to buy from the company involved but if talking about them is what it is about then yes, it's a success!0 -

Okay she's a 4 pinter. Don't like the botox lips and she's too skinny.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
They didn't pay £7m to create the commercial. That includes the media spend which will be the lion's share of that. Given a 30 second commercial during X-Factor can cost £250,000, it is easily spent.0

I hate that bloody 2 min long Sainsbury's advert - to make matters worse, one of the best christmas songs - Greg Lake is being used and i dont want to get bored hearing it on the lead up to christmas...walked out of a shop yesterday after the woman said can i help you......yes you could start by turning off Wham's last christmas...its bloody ridiculous in the middle of November :twisted:0

Just seen the John Lewis advert - sorry, but don't see the point. I'd still do Lilly Allen.0

john lewis ad, its sh it, too many hipsters/buzzfeeders/media types loving it just for the sake of it. its not exactly impressive, hare buys sleepy bear alarm clock and he see christmas tree. wow. now it would be good if the bear then savaged and ate all the other little animals.
now that would be good.0
