Fox Talas, play in lowers.

Hello,

I've had my 2014 Giant Trance 27.5 1 for about 6 weeks now and there's movement, rocking fore and aft.

Is this normal for this fork, could it be because of the adjust-ability of the Talas or has is worn very very quickly? My old Rock shox Reba never moved in two years hard use and with this recall on Fox i'm a little weary.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Lee

Just to clarify, the play is at the joint between the uppers and lowers? If so I'd be taking them back under warranty!

  • Yes. Balls!

    Thanks

There is an acceptable amount of fore and aft play in fork bushings. How much play are we talking? And have you taken it in for its 6 week check yet? Ask where you bought it from if they consider it an acceptable amount.
  • There has just been a very large fox fork recall i would check yours isnt one of them if i was you! Thinks it states not to ride your bike until it has been confirmed!

Talas forks are NOT in the recall. The only forks affected were on 2013 bikes, or aftermarket, and it wasn't bushes it was the lowers totally coming away from the fork....
  • Ah okay my Bad, look on the bright side at least your fault isnt as bad as those forks!

Indeed. From what I read, it's not actually happened. But could potentially if it's not sorted. As I said earlier, have you asked the shop you bought it from?
