I'm servicing a mate's bike and I need a replacement rear mech for a 9 speed Mirage on a triple setup.
What options do I have for a new purchase?
Will a 10 speed mech work or does it have to be a 9 speed one?
Will a medium mech be okay?
As you can see I'm not up to speed with Campag....

okay I think a 10spd mech will be fine
next question... will a medium cage mech work with a triple (30/42/52) and a 13-26 cassette?
I think it will but would like a confirmationFacts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
Hi there
a 10s RD will be fine and a medium cage likewise so long as the chain length is correctly set and you are running a standard-range (i.e. within what Campag sell as their normal options) double chainset.
You may want to run a 10s chain, or to swap the jockeys for RD-RE600 with RD-CH030 bolts if you are running a 9s chain, to give the correct clearance between the jockey cage and the outside surfaces of the chain.

I ran a nine speed mid cage Veloce rear mech for many years on a triple set-up on my touring bike with a 13-28 cassette. The widest range chainset I used was 48/39/24. I also used it with a 46/36/24. It worked fine as long as you didn't use the smallest cassette sprockets with the 24 ring. I could use the five biggest cogs on the back with the 24 ring but the chain was then too slack to use the other cogs. Didn't bother me because I would change into middle ring. Am now using a Champ long cage mech which I picked up cheap.0

Hi there, a medium cage rear mech will be fine with a triple and 13/26, I've run this in the past with absolutely no problems.
