Help! Flat Bar Road Bike or Hybrid?

Hi all, to cut a long story short, I ended up with a damaged Specialized Allez from my insurance company , wheelies.
It has some scuffs and a badly buckled front wheel. It's going back obviously but as I mainly ride for leisure, often with my young daughter I think I may of made a mistake getting a full road bike.
I was originally looking at the Cannondale Bad Boy 9 hybrid but I really like the look of either the flat bar Scott Speedster 50 or the Merida Speeder T2 Disc Flat Bar 2014 Road Bike.
I don't know a lot about the Merida tbh, although the specs look good especially as it has hydrolic disc brakes.
What would you go for out of the 3?

Would the bad boy be significantly heavier than the flat bar Road bikes?0

I had a Bad Boy Alfine 700c, great bike but the ride was very harsh. Mine had an alloy fork which did not help. I would get a bike with a carbon fork.0
