You don't want to - pad material on rims can only make the brakes work better, surely?
If the brake is catching on the rim when not in use then true your wheels and/or adjust brake allignment/spacing.0 -
no, the wheels are good and the brake allignment/spacing is ok.. i got this black marks in wet conditions and it is stuck. so, what is your advice? -jimothy780

Don't know what to mean. The advice is do nothing if the black marks are from the pads.0

If its really bad, you can clean them with Fine Wirewool. Easier to do it with the tyres off the rims.A Brother of the Wheel. http://www.boxfordbikeclub.co.uk

use a rim rubber."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I think fine wire wool is the way to go about it, as mentioned earlier. I dont see how that stuff would cause issues.
The residue is more commonly left behind on the pad surfaces.
If you want to avoid this residue from building up again after a wet ride, id recommend hosing down your wheels and brakes until all the residue is washed off, then when it all dries up there wont be any residue left over.
The residue has never caused me any problems. Other than mucking up tyres with coloured sidewalls and turning them grey.0 -
Thanks! For your advice and tips..
I finished with sandpaper. and cleaned with soapy water. Thanks again!0
