sram 1050 casette compatability with shimano ultegra

im going to build a bike and was thinking of putting a sram 1050 10speed cassette with an ultegra compact chainset. the chainset will be 50 34 compact, and the cassette will be 11 28 or 11 32, will this combination work and if so what size ultegra rear mech should i use medium or long cage

All Shimano and SRAM cassettes are compatible with each other. Your 11-28 should be fine with a medium RD. For the 11-32 I would guess a long.
