is it arriving in bits, or pre-assembled?0
-
I used it for the first time this year, I'd never had an issue but I though that I'd go with the flow. The paste has kindly scratched/removed the inserted clear coat and colour so if I swap frame again I could be left with a useless seatpost.
I don't think that I'll bother again.0 -

if it's cf-cf, you only need paste if the post is slipping, there are different brands, some more abrasive than others
some advocate hairspray, but it can wash out (as it's meant to!)
because of the abrasion risk, don't use paste on a steerer tube, just make sure the stem and steerer are completely grease free before clampingmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
I want to prevent the post from slipping as i don't want it to get scratched sliding inside the frame as it was expensive was going to buy some of the stuff in the link tomorrow.

That's the one I used on my 3T Ltd post and it looks like it's been rubbed with some 120 grade glass paper.0 -
umm, so just try it dry?https://www.instagram.com/seanmcgrathphotography/

I had never used it before and I'd never had a post slip, just wait and see if someone else can offer an alternative paste or advice.0

the finish line paste is *very* gritty, from memory the bits in it are plastic, but hard enough to scratch
the pink tacx one is much smoother, probably less likely to scratch things
start dry, if there's any slipping try the tacx - one sign is a click/crack on any road bumps, even a smidge of slip can be noisy - and see if it works, if not add some of the finish linemy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
I use the Park Tools carbon assembly paste for my seat post and the steerer tube on my CAAD10 4, it is supposed to scratch the surface a bit as the surface of carbon fiber is slick. A seat post will slip down some times when it is CF to CT with the frame and no paste is used and, I have heard of stems and CF bars slipping. A few riders I know of over torqued to try and securely clamp seat posts and cracked the pin or their frame, same thing with stems and bars when over torqued from slippage. You have to decide if things are tight enough without the CF paste or swallow your pride and have some unseen scratching on posts and stems, I guess.Lets just got for a ride, the heck with all this stuff...0

You could always try a jubilee clip on the seatpost to stop it slipping. :idea:0
