Front DR cable damage

Hello !
Just after a bit of advice if possible. I have a problem with the front gear cable being damaged and warped by the front derailluer when dropped to the bottom ring , it's almost as if the angle the cable comes in on is too accute. The result being that the shift on to the top ring fails because of this localised cable stretch.
As I can see its either due to the cable line to the front derailleur, I have set the derailleur up wrong , or the FD is broken / not correct for my setup. I was thinking that I could engineer a stop to prevent the derailleur dropping as far.
If you look at the PDF you can see how the top route FD should be configured.

Sorry the photos are a bit gopping.

Maybe something like this could be used to change the cable angle so that it doesn't have contact with the FD apart from where the cable is fastened.

Any opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks

looks fine to me. your cable will not be being stretched by it. sounds like you need to add some tension to the cable."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Which fd have you got as cable routing differs depending on model... Does look like a set-up issue though
Have you set the lower stops on the derailleur properly as well - don't know if you could set the lower limit stop to stop the derailleur hitting the cable whilst still allowing it to shift down to the smallest chainring, or as Nick says, more cable tension.0 -
Bit of a clean and a lube wouldn't do any harm. Frayed cables are never a good look.I don't do smileys.

Hey!
Thanks for the replies. It's not very clear from the previous pictures (Just putting a new cable in now , take a look here if you have a moment:

The FD is Shimano SLX M665 Top Swing 2x9 Front Mech - 28.6/34.9mm - 36t - Dual Pull
I always thought on the bottom ring the FD shouldn't be under significant cable tension ? The lower limit stop sadly doesn't help in this example. It like the whole thing drops in too close to the frame.
Thanks again!0
