Upgrades for old Marin

Having recently got my first ever bike back from a long term loan to my brother I was very keen to ride the old beast again to see how it compared to my new bike, and all the ones in between. In short, I loved it and still can't remember why I lent it out in the first place.

There are a few things I want to change though, all of the components really as they're cheap and don't work very well. I'm struggling with the shock as it seems to be a funny size. I've measured it at 185mm eye to eye, all I can find to buy is either 180mm or 190mm. Will either fit without spoiling the geometry?

If it's worked here's a doe-eyed pic.

Nope. Also you need the stroke length.

  • It's 50mm I think. Apparently TFT tuning can make up a custom part to fit, so I might try them.
