Cantis or long reach calipers?

Hi all
Just looking at groupset options for my new winter / touring bike and am having thoughts about which brakes to go for. I am going for a Campag groupset but they dont do long reach calipers. However - they do some cantilever brakes for their cyclocross range. I'm having the frame custom built and so think I should be fine changing the spec (still about 5 weeks from expected delivery) so can go with either.
Has anyone used both long reach calipers (Tektro / Miche etc) and canti's who could give some guidance on comparative performance??

I prefer Shimano long reach calipers to my canti brakes, Dia Comp and Tektro 520. The calipers are easier to setup and have a sharper response. With the right frame they are good for 32mm tyres + mudguards.
If I was considering a new winter training/touring bike I would also think about disc brakes.0 -
Cheers Michael. I'm leaning towards sticking with the calipers myself too now as i have read a fair bit about potential set up issues and clearance with pannier racks for some canti's. I wont go above 28mm on the tyres (and more often 25mm) so should be just fine.0

Some pannier racks have issues with caliper brakes depnding on the frame size and the position of the mounts I have found too. As for setting up canti it does require a bit of practice but is fairly straight forward.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0
