I am looking for a light but affordable shimano compatible square taper triple chainset, the crank length is 175 mm and the outer ring is 52t, the inner rings are 40t and 30t.

I have only been able to find 1 shimano model that is out of stock and I have not had great experience with shimano chainsets so would rather try something else.

Many thanks!

Try Spa cycles for their XD-2 chainset. Very good value.
  • Thanks for the suggestion!

I reckon I would have to change my bottom bracket to get the XD-2 to work, it would also be neccessary to buy the crank bolts.

Potential alternatives to Shimano would have been FSA Vero or possibly Truvativ but having done a quick search, I can't find any availability listed anywhere. Others might be more forthcoming.

Your best option might be to ditch the square taper BB and opt for a Hollowtech II or FSA Mega Exo and that will open up a much wider number of options for cranksets
