Morning all,
I currently run Ultegra 6700 brakes with 105 STIs 10sp but looking to upgrade to the new dark glossy grey 6800 version but have just read on Wiggle "Must be used in conjunction with super SLR levers for correct leverage ratio"
Has anybody done this mod yet without agg?

Cheers

Tend to agree... Shimano calipers are cross compatible with their leversleft the forum March 20230

I agree. Its marketing bull.
I have SRAM brakes with my 105 shifters. No problems whatsoever.0 -
Suprised they can get away with a slightly misleading statement albeit the word Must is naughty!

Shim claim to have tweaked the pull ratios with full 6800 set, but in my experience the newer series calipers will work as well (or better) than your old ones with the 6700s. You may get further benefit from new shifters too.0

I've got both sets and they work fine, the 6800/6700 with 7900 and 6700 shifters .
You'll find that the 6700 caliper is a darker grey/charcoal than the 6800, the 6800 is closer to grey than charcoal.0 -

The 6700 is darker, I purchased the 6800 calipers thinking that they'd be the same charcoal as the 6700 but they're not. If could take a picture of them side by side I would just to show the difference.
Plus they're about 8mm deeper than the 6700 caliper hence the +18g weight difference.0 -
I'd love to see the 6800 & 6700 side by sideGiant TCR Composite 30
