Hi, I am going to buy a set of Chinese carbon clinchers but am unsure of what size to buy. I will be using these for TTs crits and road races. I weigh 45kg or about 100 pounds. I was thinking of a 38mm front wheel and a 50 back. Please leave your suggestions. Thank you

Light bicycle do some 24.5mm wide, 45mm deep aero rimmed carbon clinchers, around 1590g all In, supposed to be good in the wind too, might be worth checking them out.

Arron bike (on ebay) do 1400g 50mm full carbon clinchers for about £330. They were great for racing and climbing last season.

I guess if you're going down the Chinese route is for budget reasons?

If not why not check out Wheelsmith? I'd guess that the quality is worlds apart.

Just make sure the supplier is using proper Pillar, Sapim or Dt swiss spokes. Some if the really budget offering use copies with similar names. Nothing wrong with the better one though. 38mm deep on the front and 50mm on the rear sounds fine to me but 50mm on the front will be slighter more aerodynamic but abit heavier. The better rims will have a basalt brake track or similar. Some are just naked carbon.

My own set (I am just buying rims) 25mm wide 50mm deep will weigh 1600g with heavy Miche hubs. If I fork out for DT Swiss 240's which I might that will have 135g but at the hub were I won't notice.
