Hi all -
As part of a work thingy I foolishly suggested I and some nominated others ride from our place of work to Edinburgh in May / June 2014. What would really be great is if anyone has any knowledge or information of roads to avoid (Motorways obviously ) or routes / roads to take. I'll plot all the information gained into my MIO software and begin to create a complete route, comfortable in the knowledge that I have experts who have cycled these roads and paths previously.
Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can share.

A bicycle ride is a flight from sadness.

Should help a lot!
Good route - plenty of variation in the scenery, some very pretty bits. The journey south via Eskdalemuir was even more amazing - so you could mess around with the route and make that your northbound route.0
