Cyclocross front mech cable setup
Hi
Building up my first cx bike and I'm a bit stumped with the front mech. The cable runs across the top tube and down the seat tube. Do I just attach it straight down, or do I need to run it so it comes up underneath? I only have 1 cable to hand and don't want to stuff it up.
Cheers

You need a top feed front derailleur, check out the ultegra one... once you have one, just clamp the cableleft the forum March 20230

AFAIK Shimano make the the only top-pull road mech - it also works pretty well with Campagnolo Ergos as I've tried it. You can use a conventional bottom-pull mech with a clamp-on pulley (only works with round frame tubes):

Some CX frames have a single 5mm threaded bush on the back of the seat-tube near the BB to take a pulleyMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0 -
Cheers for the advice. I'll track down one of these pulleys
Not had a good day building this frame, whilst transferring gear from an old frame:
Rear mech pulley jockey wheel sheared, guess it was like this already
Bottom bracket chewed up whilst getting it out - don't buy token gear, it's crap
Chainset does not fit on new frame, rubs the rear triangle. Suppose I can add a wider bb.
Longer wheelbase means I need a new chain.
It's never fecking easy.0
