Winter Jacket £150 budget

Anyone have any recommendations for a nice winter jacket for around £150.
Its going to be a present for my birthday so i would like to get a nice brand name item. I am well aware that I can get something cheaper that will do the same job but as its a present I want something "premium"
I dont want something that is super warm as im generally quite a hot person but I do like tight fitting gear as cant stand jerseys and jackets flapping around. Water proof isnt a huge concern as i cant see myself riding much in the rain
Thanks in advance

Castelli Moritrolo is very good, love mine, currently £154 at Wiggle.0

Mavic Echappee. Great softshell with some well placed vents and trick cuffs. I run hot too when I ride and this and a base layer is usually enough throughout Winter. It will even repel an unexpected downpour.
I own three Mavic softshells, the Espoir, Equipe and Echappee and whilst they're all good in their own right the Echappee just feels that little bit more special.
Edit: Here's a review:

A quick search shows that CRC are the cheapest:

+1 I've got one too and really rate it. Tried some of the Castelli soft shells in my LBS the other day coz they look cool, but I didn't think they were anywhere near as well thought out, as well featured or as well made as my Echappee 8)Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...0 -
Looks like the Mavic it is then.
Looks good and have read a few reviews and seems to be exactly the sort of thing that would suit me. Now just need some cold weather
Thanks0 -
Don't encourage the cold weather!! I got an Echappee a couple of weeks back, not used it yet though as it's been too warm, but it's certainly well made. £112 for the red one on Winstanleys, bargain!0

Pearl Izumi Select at Amazon reduced from £140 to £35 if you're a small or a medium, nut sure how good it is, but it's definitely a bargain - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pearl-Izumi-Sel ... arrier+WXB0

This might sound daft, but I would think about using a Rapha winter jersey as that jacket!
You can use it in the spring & autumn with just a base layer underneath, or in winter with a SS jersey under and either a gilet or pack-up waterproof over if you get caught out in a shower.
Anyway, good luck with your choice. If you like it and it keeps you going that's what counts. All the best, Ron.0 -
I'm about to buy one of these in blue; Etxeondo Lodi:

Lovely tight fit, windproof front and arms, more breathable back panel with subtle reflective areas and bang on the money.0 -
I swear by mavic stuff, and have the altium h20, espoir softshell and the full thermal one. The latter is amazing in the cold, it's just the warmest thing with primaloft so love it with only a baselayer underneath.0
