Troubles removing pumps from Presta Valves

I have some new tubes fitted with threaded Presta Valve stems. My last tubes were smooth Presta Valve stems and the pumps after being unlocked would simply pull off with minimal effort. :x

I'm having real issues removing pumps from these new ones. (I say "pumps" because all 3 I have are just the same)
The pump head gets stuck on -with the pump unlocked. The two thumb and push away method doesnt work either and literally pulls the stem so much it pulls the lock ring away fom the rim = stretching the tube !!!.

Whats going on? This isnt the first time I have had this with threaded valve stems but these are particularly bad.

  • Done in two tubes doing the same thing! May have to throw a blob of grease on the valve again!

The valve heats up through vigorous pumping and can expand a little. Let it cool a while and see if it makes a difference.

  • Well I had another go at pumping up these new tubes. Leaving it a while did seem to work but I also found online that people can push the pump head too far down the valve.

Had a few more goes, even applying grease and eventually found if you push the pump just 1cm or so on the valve and lock it, it comes off a bit more freely.

No way near as easy as the smooth valves and only pressing the head on slightly this way can cause air to escape and all sorts of issues like the pump head coming off.
