Sora to 105 shifters advice needed

Hi

I've just bought a Felt Z95 laden with 2013 sora everything on and would like to put the shimano 105 shifters on it. Are they a straight swap or do I have to go down the route of derailleur and cassette change too?

Tried finding the information first through forum searches but no luck so far

    you are going from 9 speed to 10 speed so yeah, new rear mech and cassette, as well as chain and possibly chainring too.

    Why are you wanting to change it?

    You will need a 10-speed cassette and 10-speed chain. The derailleurs and chainset will be fine.

    Bought the 105 SS rear derailleur anyway and the front 105 compact compatible derailleur plus 105 11-25 rear cassette to go with the 105 lever set I've bought. Also bought 105 brake calliper set too.

    Just gotta wait for Postman Pat to deliver now...

    You didn't mention a chain. You definitely need a 10-speed chain.

    fitted it all now and set it all up (got a chain, 105 one) and it's all lovely and smooth and perfect now

    time to rack up some miles....
