Trek 6000. What year?????

Been given a Trek 6000 frame (+other bits). Will probably build this up as a retro build depending on year. Does anyone have an idea what year this frame is?

Yeah I agree it is a 2000 model doesn't look in bad condition at all.

8 speed Alivio/acera/deore mix and manitou 80mm forks. What are your plans? restore or upgrade it?
Could be fun hunting the parts but rewarding all the same

cheers guys. aint got any plans as such yet. the frame does have a bit of surface rust. so im a bit unsure what to do yet
