Ive got a 2011 trance X3 with 125mm forks and shock.

Im planning to hit some bigger stuff next year, including a trip to the alps and some jumps and drops.
Anyone got any experience of this fork?

I think its just a longer travel version of what I have, which is fine. The cheapest 140mm fork i can find is from merlin cycles for £340.
150mm travel on a trance should be ok from the limited research i have done. Finally, its got a tapered steerer, 15mm axle, so should fit straight on shouldnt it?
Cheers.

Personally, I would drop the travel with a spacer to 140mm max.
Plus, does your steerer tube taper to 1.25" rather than 1 1/8" which it will if it's overdrive 2(iirc) so you'd need a new headset bearing, unless that fox 150mm is the same0 -
I think the Overdive 2 didn't feature until 2012 model?0

140mm max on a Trance X, even then climbing is effected. Fox Float 150's are quite flexy as well, especially if your planning on riding quite hard. I went for a set of 2009 Rockshox Pike dual air 140mm, they were stiff as buggery, well damped and I could drop them down to 110mm for climbing. Unfortunatels the new Pikes are nothing like the old ones so I would go for Revelations spaced down to 140mm and with a 20mm axle.
Overdrive 2 wasn't until 2012 for the Trance.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Personally, that's what I want to put on mine eventually. It depends if you want Fox or RS.0

I put a 140mm Rockshox Sektor on mine and its great.0

There's no compression adjustment on that fork. A Revelation would be better.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
