Does anyone know if the edge 500 records total miles ridden ever if you dont press the start button, I checked my totals and I'm sure I've ridden futher than it shows

If you don't tell it to record (by hitting the start button) it wont record. It's not magic.
That's a bit like saying "does it record miles I do when I've left it at home and gone out without it".

Ahh ha, bit of a bugger as my old cateye recorded everything. You'd think that as soon as its displaying your speed that it would record miles accumulated, not GPS info just the basics..........all
