At last I've managed to get some time to edit the first lot of footage from our trip in September!!

Not too interesting, exciting or rad but it was fun - even the crap crash at the beginning

Les Gets

By the way, I'm not blowing a kiss to the camera at the beginning - that's my attempt at Bonjour!!

Yes Ben, it was great fun!!

We stayed in Morzine and flew with Easyjet. The next vids will show Morzine and Chatel where we went on the Saturday & Sunday.

It was only a long weekend, arrived on Thursday evening and flew back on Sunday evening, but as it was both of our first trips to the Alps that was perfect.

Next year' strip is already in the planning :D

I guess that'll be because of the music - I'll try to put up a silent version that will work on mobiles and pads.

Just tried to watch it too on iPad and it says the owner has not made it available on mobile?

Interested to see, it's been over 12 years since I was last riding in the Port du Soleil region, reckon its probably changed a bit

For anyone who can't watch on a "mobile platform" (damn Youtube) try this link:

  • I like the idea of a long weekend and have often wondered if it was possible. Pretty tempting option for next year. Fly from Liverpool did you?

    Hi Matt,

    Yep, Liverpool to Geneva.

Perfectly do-able and I'll be doing exactly the same next year - we've got the date pencilled in already (9th Aug) :D

I'm sure there'll be space if you wanted to join us mate. Let me know if you're interested and I'll dig out how much it cost this year.

Next year I'm planning to build up a 150-160mm trail bike and to take that, rather than the DH bike, to try the lift-assisted single-track. That's what the other 4 guys that we went with did and they loved it just as much as we loved the more DH-type stuff.
  • I would be pretty interested in that. Sounds like an ideal trip for the Bionicobvious. Can get Easyjet into l'pool from here too, so would keep the costs down.

Plus, "Long weekends" are much easier for me to sell to the wife than a full week.

For some reason when I tell her I'm going somewhere sunny for a week or 2, she always seems to expect that I'll be bringing her and the kids. B!tches be crazy :p

Total cost for 3 nights (flying out on Thursday evening & back on Sunday evening) for me was £475, that included:

Flights from Liverpool to Geneva + taking my bike
Return transfers from Geneva to Morzine
3 nights in the Catered Chalet
    3 day's lift passes.

I don't get enough holiday to do more than a long weekend and to fit in all of the other stuff that I like to do throughout the year, so it suited me perfectly.

We got 2 full days (Friday & Sat) + a couple of hours on Sunday (OK, we didn't ride much on the Sunday as we'd hit the Mojitos a bit hard on Saturday night  - if we weren't hungover we could've got 3-4 hours)

It's Farkin like totally "A", Man!! Do it!!

Are you sure we flew from Liverpool?
  • OK, it may have been Manchester but I've flown Liverpool to Geneva many times as well :-)
