Now that the weather is changing to cold, wet mornings, looking for some good overshoes to protect my feet from the weather.
Can anyone recommend some good ones pls?
Do I need to be looking at the likes of Castelli?

+1 for planet x. Got myself some of the neoprene ones only £9.95 + postage on the planet x ebay store. Not 100% waterproof but will certainly keep your feet dry in most cases and will deffinately keep your feet warm and will certainly protect your shoes from winter nasties on the road. Think cycling plus and cycling weekly reviewed them and both give them 5 out of 5.

Another +1 for Planet-X. Mine are on their third of fourth year and are the best 15 quid I've ever spent on cycle clothing. Never had wet feet even in prolonged sleet storms.

If it's just your toes you're worried about and you don't really want to wear full overshoes then the Castelli toe thingy toe covers (real name) are very good imho. About £13 from wiggle.
  • After overshoes myself. Just had a look at the Planet X shoes and they look identical to my old Pro-Vision shoes. Are they one or the same just rebranded? If so then I can thoroughly recommend them especially at that price. I did find though that I needed size XL to fit over my size 9 shoes.
I'm not getting old... I'm just using lower gears......

What are the "Castelli Diluvio Overshoes" like?
Seen lots of good reviews on these.

Also there is the "Prendas Aquatex Overshoes"
    Thx.

the original diluvio covers with the open back and velcro were warm but the back meant they let water in

the current diluvio 16 covers with zip closure are excellent, best i've ever worn, they had a lot of use during this ear's extended winter, still in very good condition with a bit of touching up*

btw they are quite snug fitting, i'm size 46 and my shoes are not bulgy, but the largest size (xxl) still needs some coaxing to get on

    * use black witch wetsuit repair glop on them, i use it to reinforce heel/toe areas that normally get a bit of wear at the lights etc.

Yes they are the same as the old Pro Vision shoes. Highly recommended. No need to pay more.

I bought a Planet X "Flanders" set that contained, Overshoes, 3 pairs of socks, beanie hat and gloves for £17.99.

Not sure if the deal is still on.
