I have £1000 Halfords vouchers C2W scheme.
Which bike, I have settled on 2
http://www.cyclesuk.com/10493981/produc ... -blue.aspx
Or
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165499
Both are £999 both of a similar spec. Better rear mech on the boardman only 20 gears, better hubs and Shimano crank set on the cube, but I don't know the quality of the shock on the cube manitou marvel expert, Can't find any reviews anywhere.
I will use the bike for work but I do go off road weekends for fun, even the occasional trip to Wales.
Help please.....

Why are 20 gears a bad thing? I use 2x10 and would never consider using 3x10 again on a mtb
Out of those two I'd take the Boardman0 -
20 gears not an issue, just never used before. Didn't mean to sound like a negative.
Thanks for the reply.0 -
Much prefer the 2 x 10 setup on my Boardman to the 3 x 9 on my Carrera.0

well i have last years boardman pro and its a amazing bike
and the 2x10 is great and you wont need anything more
you could get the bike cheaper if you join british cycling, it would save you almost £100 so you could get some other stuff like a good helmet & tools ect0 -
Sram x9 2×10 on my 2012 Boardman is excellent . I actually prefer it to shimano .
Agree it could be worth looking for a 2013 model the 26 inch ht pro is an excellent bike .0
