Help from Sidi Wire owners....

Hi All,

I have ordered some Sidi Wire shoes in Fluo which look awesome however, they don't fit as well as I'd hoped. The length in a size 44 is just right however, they feel tight on each side of my feet at the widest point. I am also only wearing thin socks and sitting still so my feet would probably swell a bit while riding.

Anyone who owns a pair know if they are likely to loosen off a bit with use, or should I send them back? I have tried the next size up which were too long and my heel slipped.

I will be gutted if I have to return them but clearly can't keep a very expensive pair of shoes that are uncomfortable. If need be I'll have to swap them for the S Works or Bont Vapor.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Mick

Sidis come up quite narrow, and I'd be surprised if yours would stretch enough to be comfortable. Some Sidi shoes are available in a wide (Mega) fit, but not the Wire Vernice models (I think). I believe that the 6.6 Genius is the highest spec Sidi model available in a mega fit. Sidi insoles are rubbish, and need to be replaced with something more comfortable asap.

Send them back. If your SIDI's are too narrow from the start it's highly unlikely they'll get more comfortable with time. If you're not interested in the other SIDI's available in Mega width's you're better off choosing another brand.

They dont stretch as such but give a bit when they warm up. If they feel too tight now dont wear them. As to insoles – mine are most comfortable with the insoles supplied.

  • Cheers guys. I've done the sensible thing and returned them. They are too expensive to not fit me perfectly so I guess I'll have to try another brand.
