3 Days in the UK?

I may have a bit of leave left over before Christmas and fancy using it for some mountain biking. I am looking for ideas on where I could go in the UK to maximise my experience.
I live in the South of England and ride most disciplines in locations such as the South Downs, Rogate and occasionally the Forest of Dean on my Stumpy. Looking for a real mixed bag of riding but ideally where I wouldn't have to fly (rules out Scotland).
My preference would be to visit a couple of trail centres with maybe a day of non trail centre riding too with minimal travel, maybe using one b&b as a base. Any ideas for an itinerary or locations to start looking at in more detail?

Why does Scotland mean having to fly? It's not that far up the road once you hit the M6. Aim for the 7 Stanes and you have a fuckton of places to ride right away.Check out my site - http://www.trail-dog.co.uk

Glasgow, is at least 7hrs from mine which is most of a day's driving for me. I am planning a longer trip that way next year though.
After reading the new MBUK's article on Bike Park Wales I might looking at heading that way.0 -
Ok, aim for Betws-y-Coed in Wales.
There's tons of xc trails in easy reach - Machynlleth, Llandegla, Betws-y-Coed itself, Coed-Y-Brenin. Thats enough to last you a fortnight. But if you want a bit more downhill, there's Antur Stiniog just down the road, and Revolution Bikepark isn't far off either.Check out my site - http://www.trail-dog.co.uk

BPW is good, but bear in mind it's a 30-50 min ride up depending on how fit you are and then it's a MAX of 15 mins down to do it again - most people do the descents in 8-10 mins I guess.
it's not really and xc trail centre0
