What kind of brakes are these?

Need to replace these brakes on a second hand bike that I bought. Never seen this type before. What are they called? how can I find the right brakepads (or actually it looks like I need more than just a pad, because it has those steel pins as well)?

    look like canties but as you have not actually taken a clear picture of the BRAKES

    the type of thing most be shops stock

    about about £1.50 from CRC an end.

    Bog standard cantilever ("canti") brake pads.

    Also, *brakes.

    If you fit them yourself don't forget to toe them in correctly (front, trailing edge nearer the rim than the back edge). See http://sheldonbrown.com/rim-brakes.html#shoeadj or one of several videos you can find via google.
