Mudguard - something like a POWA Dfender

Howdo - can anyone recommend a front mudguard fit for purpose?
I've got a Mucky Nutz on the front but it was next to useless on a very wet day at the weekend. I was riding with someone who had a POWA Dfender fitted, and he didn't have a speck of muck on his face. Checked the price later and they're a whopping 60 smackeroos!
Anyone come across anything similar for more sensible dough?
Cheers in advance,
BTM

And no, they don't clog. Maybe just check your fork clearance first though.
British designed and made with direct sales only to keep price reasonable too.0 -
If your muckynutz was useless at keeping any mud out your face, you've fitted it wrong.
If however, you mean it didn't keep your face spotless on a very wet ride, I suggest you go and take up something like tiddlywinks or crochet.
Of course the dfender will keep more off because it's much bigger than a bender fender. Go for a bender fender XL and that'll keep more off than the regular one.
The bigger they get, the uglier they get.0 -
Thanks for the recommendation, ChrisW. I've seen some buzz about them but wasn't aware they'd gone into production.
Cat With No Tail - great line in sarcasm there. Clearly you think you know what you're talking about.
