Non-STI brake lever advice

I'm doing a bike build at the moment for my son, and he is only going to be running 1x10. I have a Shimano 105 5700 STI for the right hand side, but I need a brake lever for the left. What would people recommend that would compliment the shape of the 105? Ideally with a short reach option (either adjustable or using shims like the 105) as he has small hands.

I think anything other than a matching 105 lever will feel a bit odd tbh. I have some cane creek scr5 levers on my fixed commuter which come close to my 105s, but I would still notice the difference.0

He's coming from an Islabike Luath, which has an STI lever on the right and a non-STI on the left. He doesn't seem to notice the difference. But as similar as possible would be good. I'll have a look at the cane creek.Blogging about junior road bikes http://junior-road-bikes.tumblr.com0 -
If it were me, I would just buy a second hand 105 lever, there are always ones coming up on certain auction sites for about £30-35. You may also get lucky on the forum classifieds.0
